Puck continues to discover more about this new universe that she shall call home. Anyone who has ever had the joy of trying to buy a first home can probably relate to this; when you have nothing to your name, it's hard to purchase outside of industrial slums.

I like Colin's expression in panel three. You can just tell he don't have the heart to crush a gal's dream.

The diploma in the background, by the by, is an almost identical reproduction of an actual diploma from McMaster. My wife thinks it's kind of funny that a diploma would be hanging in the bedroom. Where else are you going to put it, though? Over the toilet?

Ah yes the joys of affordable housing .

Affordable housing sucks. In future strips, we'll find out just how affordable (and just how sucky) their current housing is!

I'm sorry. But she's just asking for it. At least you took the high road and didn't do a Manga panty shot.

Asking for what, pray tell? And you can ALWAYS count on me to take the high road in any situation. That's what they call me round these parts: High Road Jackson.

Call it an "Iron Supplement," High Road. Hehe.

Lol! Did they somehow get a house in the middle of Dickensian London or something?
Reply
:iconelectricgecko:
Nah, they got a house next to the mills in Hamilton, which is the next best thing to Dickensian London. Soot and grime? Check. Grinding poverty? Check. Frighteningly low life expectancy? Check. It's a little place to call home.

Yes, as someone who lives next to the freeway, I agree with the curtains also. And, double-insulated windows. :P

I don't even have rubbermaid for my mementos of yore. Old cardboard boxes. Which still reek of house fire. But I guess that's one step up from the treatment my old paintings get, which is to pile them on the floor or shove them between bookcases. :P Not sentimental, me.
