IT’S THE JLA AS YOU’VE NEVER SEEN THEM BEFORE!

I thought it was time to pay tribute to the Justice League of America before Zack Synder takes a steaming dump on the franchise.  So every week in July will bring you a new, cool JLA-related cosplay experience, courtesy of the Puck crowd!  The first one’s up now, so vote for Puck on TWC and take a look!

VOTE BEFORE GORILLA GRODD ESCAPES!

As for this comic…

I don’t think this rainbow gateway into the land of childhood fun exists anymore.  It did exist in the 80’s, though.  The original arch had ‘Hanna Barbera Land’ written on it, and it let you know that you were entering a wacky world of pintsize fun.  I was Googling images of the old Hanna Barbera Land and a flood of memories came back: Barney Burgers, Scooby Doo’s Ghoster Coaster, and good times.  Hanna Barbera studios waned in its presence, though, and the land was rebranded.  A few times.   I’m not even sure what they’re on now.

On the subject of power cutting, I have to say that I’m always amazed by the ease with which characters in movies can always cut the power to buildings or things when required.  It’s always some variation of the ‘Obi-Wan powers down the tractor beam’ thing, with some clearly labelled manual switch in an easily accessible area.  I’d say it isn’t realistic, but I really don’t have much experience with cutting power to public buildings and facilities, so who knows?

IT’S JUNE!  SAY CHEESE!

June’s almost over, so be sure to vote on July 1st when a new voting incentive pops up! Until then, it’s the cheesecake thing.  It’s what’s for dinner.

 VOTE! DO IT FOR JOHNNY!

As for this comic…

There’s a ‘Medieval Faire’ area of Canada’s Funderland.  This background is not directly based off any real section in the park, but it’s a close approximation of the faux medieval feel that pervades the whole zone.  And no, there isn’t actually a store there called ‘Ye Olde Funnel Cakes’, but there really should be.

By the way, the June bug referred to here is a North American variety of scarab of the genus Phyllophaga.  They’re large, ugly, and I’m confident that they would taste bad.  They’re also very, very crunchy.  I’m actually not confident a small baby without teeth could successfully crunch one, but I’ve never been a stickler for realism, have I?

Just a friendly daily reminder about the new Puck voting incentive pic up on TWC! This one's horrifying! Seriously, though - kinda creepy. You've been warned.

How does comic rocket work? Is it a hosting site that links to your web page or an embedded script?

Uhm, I don't really know, but I think it's a stand-alone site that just pulls page info directly from your site.  There's no script you need to embed for Comic Rocket to work.  I think they copy your script and put it into their template.

Aw, so nice of you to say.  I mean, we all have those days where we feel like trash and think that what we're doing is garbage, and today was one of those days for me.  Then you wrote that, and now I feel less like trash.  Thanks a bunch.
